We meet the third Monday of each month at the American Legion Post, 112N 21st Street, Purcellville, Virginia, and have many activities throughout the year, culminating in our Toys for Tots campaign before each Christmas.
We are recruiting new members all the time, and look forward to your involvement.

WORK PARTY TO SUPPORT WOUNDED WARRIORSOn 10 May, Detachment members are asked to join our work party to clear brush at the developing wounded warrior retreat, Boulder Crest Retreat, here in Loudoun County.
We will assemble at 9:00am at 33735 Snickersville Turnpike, Bluemont, VA. We'll be finished around 11:30. Suggested gear to bring is gloves, safety glasses, and hand tools for cutting shrubbery. 2011 Toys for Tots is over. Thanks to all toy donors and to all of our wonderful volunteers, mission accomplished:
- Total toys collected: 32,248
- Toys from 2010 storage: 7,489
- Sent to other MCL units: 2,502
- Total toys distributed: 26,280

Total toys stored: 12,109 (this enables early 2012 pack-ups for
institutional requests...gives them time to wrap and distribute to their
children).
- Total children served: 8,423
-
Of the children served, 3996 were at Loudoun County's Holiday Coalition
(toys provided by Toys for Tots) and 4427 taken care of by direct
distribution by the detachment.

We are now soliciting names of deployed Marines who you would like to receive a package. The Detachment is also welcoming material gifts or checks to help support and extend the program.
To make a difference in the support of our brave and dedicated troops, we urge all who want to participate to send an e-mail to us today at carepackages@loudounmarines.org. We will reply with full details of how to join with us to make this wonderful program a county-wide success.
